Tranquil Buzz M81 (NGC 3031) & M82 (NGC 3034) from Gallup and Silver City, New Mexico. 24 hours combined of both broadband and narrowband HOO one shot color images. 24 h 45m total exposure. 7h 5m A Optolong L-eNhance 2026-05-09 & 11, and 17h 40m wideband UV/IR cut 2026-05-02 > 12.

Several firsts for me. This is with a new longer 600mm focal length telescope, courtesy of Jay and Anita Hanawalt. Processing was done with with the new Apple Silicon native PixInsight 1.9.4. Everything works the same as before, just much faster. These are also my first images with a new combined broadband and narrowband workflow. I started work on these images in my favorite location for processing, the Tranquil Buzz Coffee Shop in Silver City. Hence the name!

ZWO FF80 600/80mm, L-Enhance dual NB filter, ASI2600 MC Duo camera, ASIAIR Plus controller, AM5N mount. 297 5' exposures stacked and processed in PixInsight with RC-Astro and SetiAstro tools. Final exp and crop in Affinity Photo.
