The clouds parted this afternoon for a great start to the year. After enjoying celebrations with good friends and family, we enjoyed the moon and Venus in the early evening sky while we hunted pokemon around the neighborhood. Once home the telescope and the camera were soon set up for this image of the crescent moon from Austin Texas on 2017-01-01 06:38 PM CST.
Taken with Questar 3.5" telescope (1350mm f14) and Sony a6300 camera at prime focus. Exposed at ISO 400 for 1/25 sec. Best 14 of 54 images stacked and deconvolved in Lynkeos with final adjustments in Photoshop.
