Harvest Moon

I got up early this morning to capture the full Harvest Moon. The skies were very stable. I was able to get good results with a straight stack without the affine transform optimization. Just a few hours shy of the full Moon the Mare Orientale rim is in nice relief on the western (left) limb.

The Harvest Moon from Austin, Texas early this morning 2017-10-05 07:19 UT. Questar 1350/89mm telescope with Sony a6300 camera at prime focus. Exposed 1/50 sec at ISO 100 and f15. Best 15 images of 197 raw conversion Capture One Pro, stacked and deconvolved in Lynkeos, final exposure and crop in Photoshop.

A 1:1 crop of the western limb with the rim of Mare Orientale.
