Silver City is a small city in SW New Mexico in the Gila National Forest with lots of great star gazing nearby in the Gila National Forest and along US 180. Cosmic Campground is an hour and a half NW of Silver City and only 20 minutes past the town of Glenwood on US 180. Cosmic Campground offers camp sites with restrooms and access for RVs. The area has many options form camping, motels, and short term rental.
