The area between Lampasas and San Saba is a favorite for me northwest from Austin up US 183. When costal clouds cover the Austin area it’s often clear up here. Off a dirt road along the Colorado River is the remote. 
 Colorado Bend State Park. Located west of Lampasas 13 miles south of US 190, off of FM 580 (two miles of dirt road)
 in Bend, TX 76824 3.5 miles north of state highway 86.
